Please click here to watch in real time Muslims praying in Makkah  or doing Tawaf around the Kaaba in Makkah, and click on either the first camera (for Makkah) or the second camera (for Masjid an Nabawi) on the right.  The cameras in the Haram Sharif will pan around the whole Masjid, and will allow you to watch with sound.  You can watch and hear the prayers at appropriate times in Makkah.  It is very moving.

IDepending on the speed of your internet connection, wait a few seconds to about 2 minutes (depending on the speed on your internet connection) to watch.   Be paitent.  You may have click several times on the play icon to obtain an image.  The servers for this site are often overloaded because millions of Muslims around the world are trying to access it simultaneously–especially during Ramadan or at the time of Hajj and around the time of Eid ul Adha.  The faster your internet access, the greater you chances of connecting and of obtaining a smooth picture.  Whatever internet browser you are using, look for the zoom feature.  That way, you can watch a much larger picture.

When watching the Haram, what the camera shows is a function of what the Saudi Authorities in Makkah detremine should be shown at different times of the day.  When it is not prayer time, the camera will show diferent parts of the Kaaba including people performing the Tawaf.  Sometimes, the Saudi authorities will allow 4 cameras to be shown simultaneously, and you will then, Insha Allah, be able to choose which camera to watch. Currently, they allow only two views.  By pressing the top box on the right, you can watch the Haram Sharif in Makkah.  By pressing the bottom box on the right, you can watch Masjid An Nabawi in Madinah.

Note during Ramadan: You can watch and listen to the Tarawih prayer during Ramadan. Please make sure your computer speakers are turned on, and that you have not muted sound within Windows. Saudi Arabia is ten hours ahead of where I am located on the West Coast of the United States. So, during the last Ramadan, sometime before noon, I have been able to listen and watch as the Tarawih prayers were being recited around the Kaaba. Subhanallah. It makes you want to be there.

Note to viewers: Sometimes the Saudi authorities change the website address of this webcam though it has always been located on this site–the official site of those in charge of the Haram Sharif and the Masjid of the Prophet (s).   Above all, be patient Insha Allah, and keep clicking on the play icon no matter what the message you receive back. Eventually, you will connect Insha Allah.

Please remember the Ummah in your du’as. I pray to Allah that wherever you are or come from, you will Insha Allah be able to do Hajj and ‘Umrah in the future.  I have only done the ‘Umrah so far, and it is an experience I will never forget.  Insha Allah, I intend to do Hajj too in the future.  If you can afford to, do so as soon as you can.  Don’t wait–you never know what Allah Subhana-u-ta’ala has in store for you, and you may miss the opportunity of a lifetime.
