The current project will focus on the situation of Muslims in 11 major cities, looking in particular at the extent to which local policy addresses their specific needs, seeks to include them in the policy-making process and how social, economic and political needs of Muslim communities are addressed.

EUMAP is now seeking researchers and focus group coordinators for the ‘Muslims in the EU: City Reports’ project.

EUMAP is seeking RESEARCHERS (8) – For the monitoring project ‘Muslims in the EU: City Reports’

The researcher will be responsible for the preparation of the final paper, which will form part of EUMAP’s publication of a comprehensive series of reports on the 11 cities. The length of each final report is expected to be approximately 95 pages.
Each draft report will be edited by EUMAP editors and finalised jointly with the researcher. It will also be submitted to discussion during a round table composed of local stakeholders. A final draft will be prepared following the round table and, after additional editing, will become the final report.

EUMAP seeks freelance city researchers for Antwerp (Belgium); Marseilles (France); Hamburg (Germany); Amsterdam and Rotterdam (the Netherlands); Stockholm (Sweden); Leicester and Waltham Forest (UK). The closing date for applications is 27 August 2007.
